Sarissa - Javascript library for AJAX - level 200

Evaluate Sarissa, the cross-browser javascript library for javascript Http requests.  It makes a server call from javascript require only a few lines on the client page.

After downloading, check out this page for some code examples to get your started.

Maybe it's just me, but compared to Prototype, Sarissa looks downright painful. ;)

If you want to see how simple Ajax can be, hit up http://prototype.conio.net/ and check out Rico, Behaviour, and Effects (script.tacul.ous) while you're at it.

Note: You can get Prototype 1.4 through the repository, which fixes a content-length bug, but you'll still need to modify the evalScripts Regex to include \r if your editor of choice spits out DOS style newlines.

For both Sarissa and Prototype are part of the solution. You also need a way to handle things on the server side... I'll leave it at that.
